I build links a number of different ways, here are a few.

Comment luv, I go to the main page of comment luv and search for blogs about seo or gaming and the go to the sites and post comments. I register at commentluv also. When I post a comment on these blogs I will get two links. The first link will have my name in the text, which I normally use some keywords such as Video Games or Achievement guides. This helps my SEO and pagerank. The second link is to my last post and will have the post title as the link keywords, such as: ea dice announce day 1 map pack release This is especially good if you are using joomla which has some seo drawbacks. Top commentator, this one is easy. If you comment on a blog that uses the top commentator plugin and you comment the most or top five what ever the blogger chooses then you will get a link from each page of the blog(in most cases) That is very powerfull, especially if the blog has a good pr or a lot of pages.
